I don't actually have a lot of details for this character, because I lost the character sheet for her, but the RP's premise was school-based, with the characters all supposedly coming from broken homes. Nelly, as people call her, has good grades, attends school faithfully, and always keeps her head down and a smile on her face. When she was a little girl, both her parents died and for a long time she was raised by her nana, her father's unmarried sister, Eirene. However, her aunt died young from an illness, and ever since then, Nelly has been living with her father's brother and his family, including her cousin Jacob, who does not seem to like her very much. She has always worked hard not to cause them any trouble, though they don't really feel like family the way her nana did. I think her uncle may have been physically violent with her.

Nelly’s Rules of Survival:
1. Do not trust anyone, because everyone lies.
2. Do not fight, because you will always lose.
3. Do not grovel, because it garners disgust.
4. When asked a genuine question, answer within five seconds.
5. When a question is yelled, do not answer, because it is not actually a question.
6. Do not complain about anything.
7. Do not hide or hesitate when you are called.
Subset: Rules for When Facing an Angered Person:
8. Do not look them straight in the eye, but make sure they know you are listening.
9. Do not smile, and do not frown, because both are seen as opinions, which you are not allowed to have.
10. Look contrite, but do not look pitying.
11. Say sorry only once per interval, but at least three times during the conversation.
Subset: Nelly’s Single, Immutable Rule:
12. But most of all. Most of all. Never. Ever. Flinch.
