<Weapon Appearance>

"I suppose you could say I'm sort of unique."

<Abilities>

Healing Wavelength.

As a weapon, Seung-ah is also able to stretch herself longer than she looks, and her thread is difficult to impossible to break. Depending on how she's thrown, she can also wrap around objects with an accuracy that would be nearly impossible with a normal weapon.

<Personality>

"Thank you so much for your concern, but I'm alright, really. You don't need to worry about me."

Seung-ah is a nice girl. Soft-spoken and unassuming, she can blend in anywhere, and get along with most anyone. She is polite, thoughtful, and follows rules carefully without obsessing over them. For all intents and purposes, she is a well-adjusted, mature young lady. This is not a technically incorrect assessment, but does not tell the whole story. Inside her mind, Seung-ah is plagued with suspicion and long-standing grudges. While she is a rather confident and self-sufficient individual herself, she is always questioning other people's motivation, and has difficulty believing that anyone is truly naturally good-natured. She trusts few people. Furthermore, she may give the impression that it is difficult to anger her, but she gets angry just the same as anyone else, just shows it less. Worse, once angered, she does not forgive easily, and is likely to hold that grudge until the person has proven themselves worthy of her forgiveness. Her methods of retribution are quiet and sneaky, rarely large-scale, and always carefully planned and plotted. Despite all of this, she is very empathetic and caring, disliking the hurt of those whom she believes does not deserve it.

<History>

"Oh there's nothing really unusual about my upbringing."

Anybody who looks at the Kalinin family now would think that they're just your average family. Dmitri Kalinin and Si-jung Park are the perfect little couple after all, so very much in love. They are both weapons, with Dmitri being a regal spear and Si-jung being a weighted net, but that never seemed to get in the way of their relationship. Their two children are clearly deeply beloved, but not at all spoiled. However, much like Seung-ah's personality, other people's impressions of her family is sadly bereft of the full truth. Seung-ah grew up much loved, the little princess of the family. Her mother could be a bit strict, at times, but that only reinforced her respect for her mother, and her love for her ever-gentle father. For the first six years of her life, she was completely unaware that she had a brother. She discovered him when she mistakenly thought a discarded and crumpled piece of paper was one of her homework assignments. She opened it only to realize it was a letter to her father. She was about to close it and return it to her father, when something caught her eye. The words "your son" were carefully printed on the paper in shaky handwriting. Seung-ah's ability to read wasn't that well-developed yet, but she studied the letter carefully and in secret for a full week, reading and rereading its contents to make sure she hadn't misunderstood anything. She had a brother, but he had a different mother. This other mother was poor, so poor that they didn't have a house. What could this mean? Uncertain and upset, she began keeping track of the letters her parents received, the addresses they came from, whether or not they had stamps. It took her several months, but she finally managed to track down and catch her first glimpse of this brother and his other mother. They slept on the streets, begged for money, got food at a place full of equally dirty people, and seemed to use every spare cent on increasingly desperate letters. Seung-ah was horrified and angry, and confronted her mother with the knowledge, but to her increasing shame discovered that Si-jung had already known. The image the little girl had had of her family was thus brutally shattered. For three long years, she smiled politely and followed her parents' every command obediently, pretending that she knew nothing, pretending that she didn't come to despise her parents more every day they kept up this farce. Behind their backs, she visited the boy she would come to know as Nikolas and his mother Nadya Markov, giving them every last penny she received as her allowance. Meanwhile, she began insinuating to her friends' parents that she was being physically and psychologically abused, taking advantage of every wayward scrape and bruise. By the time she was nine, rumors about the Kalinin family were being whispered all over the town. It was then that she struck. She faced her parents at the dinner table, as if nothing were at all unusual, and demanded that they provide for Nikolas and Nadya, unless they wanted her to call the police and claim they had hurt her. They scoffed at her threat, at which point she took out a penknife she'd stolen from her father's desk and began pressing it to her wrist. They took her seriously, then. After some negotiating, it was decided that Nadya would be sent some money regularly, and Nikolas would be brought into the family and given the name Seung-gi. They moved to a new area and started over as if Seung-gi had always been there, but a line had been crossed and not all things that are broken can be fixed. <Other>

Seung-ah may not be particularly picky about who tries to wield her, but using her to her best advantage takes a lot of precision, such that most meisters find her tiring and difficult to use, unless their soul wavelengths match really well.
