Takeo Nakanagi

Divine Heritage: Arachne

Age: 24 - 36

Biography: Takeo's history is dark and mysterious. Anybody who knew his history is now dead, pretty much. His father, Takahiro Nakanagi, was an arachnologist - one who researches spiders. Known for his obsession with spiders, he was never married and was largely chaste, as no one really wanted to come close to him. Arachne, however, was intrigued with this man and his interest in her children. She was particularly interested in his practice of self-poisoning in small doses to build up an immunity to spider poison. That level of dedication he displayed brought her admiration, and she eventually showed herself to him, even in her half-spider, half-human form.

Somehow, they ended up spending a night together and Takeo was eventually born. I.... really don't want to go into the mechanics of that. So he grew up able to speak to/communicate with spiders. Spiders were also naturally attracted to him, earning him a lot of enemies and bullies, etc. He never retaliated outwardly, but he always got his revenge. No one could ever tie the bad things that happened to his enemies to him, but they were his doing. His father never knew a thing about it, or even payed much attention to him, though he was a caring father.

By the time Takeo was 15, everyone knew that if you messed with him, something bad would inevitably happen to you. Most people feared him, others wanted to use him. He had massive connections underground and had already gained his reputation as a kingmaker and his nickname: the Devil. Sometimes he wondered how his father managed not to notice when everyone else did, but he still loved that oblivious nature of his father's. Eventually, one of his enemies gunned down his father. In a fit of rage, he killed the man and everyone affiliated with his cause. He did it very deliberately, making sure they suffered greatly and that there was not a single trace left. That was the first time he killed, though not the last. He no longer gets angry, as he doesn't have anything he cares about left to get angry about, and he rarely has to kill anyone himself, but he has, on occasion, when it suits his purposes.

When he discovered the existence of Idris' two powerful little children, he knew, right away, that those could be his new pet project, a more interesting challenge than any of the kingmaking he'd tried before. Manipulating people in power had become easy. Manipulating people with true power and an overprotective mother? That was going to be interesting.

Demigod Abilities:

Spider Speech - In some ways Takeo's most fearsome ability, he makes up for his general lack of fighting skills not only by being smart, but by being able to tap into the vast network of communication and knowledge that exists between the spiders of the world. Spiders are rarely seen and can get into almost anywhere, making them the perfect watchers and listeners, to not only case places, but find out every bit of relevant information there is to know about people in the world.

Web Production - Although an ability he uses rarely, Takeo can produce webs from his hands, shooting them out like spiderman, or more commonly weaving cloth structures from the webs he produces.

As Takeo is not actually a demigod, he does not have the enhanced physical strength, speed, or reflexes demigods do.

Personality: Takeo is indifferent to most things. He is extremely confident and never panics. Things almost always go exactly as he expects, but it doesn't much bother him when they don't, either. While smart, and a deep thinker, he's a risk-taker and adrenaline junkie, and he loves a good challenge, mostly because he knows so much about the rest of the world that his life is boring without one. He also is very good at, and enjoys drawing out the potential in people, though never so far as to threaten his own power.
