Not exactly your conventional princess, but hey, who said only the boys could have fun?

Character Name

Elsbeth Furstin

Gender

Female

Age

21

Occupation

Princess-Knight

Strengths Hard-working, down-to-earth, good with a sword.

Weaknesses Impatient, short-tempered, sloppy with her looks and etiquette, gruff with communication.

General Appearance Elsbeth is 5'7" and has short, wispy red hair and brown eyes. Though fairly pretty by most standards, she takes little interest in maintaining her good looks, and is usually dressed in either armor or simple, but comfortable brown cloth and leather boots. Either way she is rarely seen without her sword on her hip.

Talents Besides swordsmanship, outdoor survival and card games (it's best if gambling is involved).

Inabilities Getting along with other people and comporting herself properly.

Fears Having to go back and rule her kingdom properly after her father's death.

General Personality On the outside, Elsbeth is a rough and tumble sort of girl who sticks to herself and doesn't need anyone nosing into her business, thank you very much. She doesn't have much patience for people who judge her for her gender and doesn't put much stock in appearances, but can't look the other way when there's someone in need.

Inner Personality Elsbeth is surprisingly well-educated and has a great love for music. She has a lot of curiosity about the world and loves children, but is deeply insecure that other people will not love her for who she is, and is constantly suspicious that other people are lying to her. She is also not confident in her eventual ability to make the right choices when it comes to the major responsibilities of ruling, and struggles under social pressure. Put her in a boxing match with a bear, and she does just fine. Put her in a fancy stone hall with her father and ask her to make conversation, she'll likely break down before the food arrives.

History Elsbeth was born in a time of unrest in her country. She was the only child of the king and queen and in an effort to protect their only child, they sent her away to live with a trusted noble with four sons. She was raised not knowing she was a princess and the heir of the kingdom, and though her foster parents gave her tutors so that she would know some things required for the role she had been born into, her foster brothers instead often encouraged wild behavior, and as the precious "youngest daughter" of a good family, she got away with a little more than she maybe should have. By the time the war was over, Elsbeth believed herself to be a free spirit, and gambled and explored with her brothers.

When she was 17, she was told the truth and brought back to the palace, with the intention of grooming her to be the next heir. She was tutored more vigorously than ever in everything from literature to foreign policy, and finally unable to take the pressure any longer, Elsbeth slipped away in the hullabaloo of her 18th birthday celebration. She ran far away and has since survived mostly on her own in the wilderness, somehow managing to protect herself from wild animals and bandits, and gaining a little money for small necessities by furs she managed to sell and the occasional card game.
